I have this RAM kit since I built my first computer from scratch in July and then in January that it shows signs of it failing on a couple Memtests and many bluescreen errors on Windows. I have tried many ways that I can try to fix it...... First I had tried testing the RAM at one stick at a time and no errors and that's all on XMP and then, Second..... I tested them on my ASUS which is 16GB compatible and no errors on XMP and then I think its my motherboard which is a MSI Z77A-G45 may be causing this chaos. Even though I have set the RAM speed to 1800MHz which is the speed they are meant to run at least that didn't help even I put my CPU clock on stock and that didn't help. I reisntalled Windows since I think its the clone from my old SSD to my new SSD that is causing all of these errors and that didn't help either. I think it is the RAM because why not be? I did the most stupidest thing ever which comes to RMAing something, I sent out a RMA request to G.Skill about it too soon and I was in the middle of testing the RAM. Just because I came home from Jacksonville that I could identify what the hell is going on, I have finally done another Memtest on SMP which I should have done and there were errors and froze up in 3 minutes. So I have FINALLY shipped out the defective kit to G.Skill and yes the shipping to them will cost you money. As I'm writing this they should have sent out a new kit which they have tested at their lab. When I receive the new kit then I will test it on my build doing the same method on that I did on that last Memtest. At least this is my first time ever encountered bad RAM on one of my computers and I thought G.Skill RAM was good for sure. |
